St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any questions.
Please do stay for tea and coffee afterwards, and feel free to carry your drink into the main body of the church.
Meets at Park Hill School next Sunday at 10.30 a.m. St@PH is a service of contemporary worship, with a very warm sense of fellowship which meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. All are warmly welcomed. (Please note there is no service on Christmas Day).
Worship 4 All
The January Worship 4 All service will take place on January 8th at 10.30 a.m. at Park Hill School. Please note this is different from the normal pattern in terms of date, time and venue. Do join us if you can.
We are seeking additional volunteers to act as sidespersons (welcoming people and distributing hymn books etc.) to join our loyal band of helpers; and also those willing to carry the elements (bread and wine) forward during the offertory. If able to help, please speak to Steve Wankling or Greg.
Many thanks to all those who supported our Bible Marathon in which we celebrated the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible on Nov 25th. Special thanks to all those who volunteered to read or who led sessions during the day.
The very popular Nightingales Singers are going to be performing at St Andrews on Saturday December 10th at 7 p.m. with their wonderful Christmas repertoire. Tickets are available at £5 for adults and £2 for children from Barbara 76403458 or Marguerite 76461405.
St Oswald’s Advice Centre
St Oswald’s Advice Centre meets every Friday between 9.30am and 12.00 noon, in the parish hall in Jardine Crescent, Coventry, to support people who are in difficulty by offering them free, impartial, and confidential advice on Welfare Rights, Benefits, Housing, Legal, Health, Local and National Services, enabling them to gain access to Legal, Local Authority, and National Government Services, including Welfare.
St Oswald’s services are provided by volunteer advisors and also volunteer students from Warwick University and is currently the only provider of advice in this area of the city. We are a member of Advice UK.
We are looking to strengthen our staff levels with volunteers to provide this much needed requirement for the people of Tile Hill, and Coventry. If you are a qualified Advice Worker, a retired solicitor or lawyer, worked for a trade union or jobcentre or DHSS, or just keen to help others and wish to enhance our Centre by giving your time – one Friday morning a week – then please telephone Father Nicholas Leggett, Chairman of the Advice Centre on 07762-156380 for more details.
Continued thanks to all those who are supporting our window appeal. It will not have escaped your notice that the cracks are increasing in size with the dry weather. We hope to be given permission to undertake remedial work early in the new year. The appeal currently stands at £5,200.

We would very much like additional volunteers for the flower rota. Please consider whether you would like to sponsor flowers at an approximate cost of £10 for a week in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a birthday/anniversary. Please put your name on the rota at the back of church or speak to Ann Dove. You would be asked to specify colours of flowers but would not be expected to undertake the arrangement.
Please see the leaflets at the back of church, which describe the Coventry Pilgrimage that will take place next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Coventry Cathedral. It invites you to walk the Coventry Way either individually or as part of a group.
