Pews News Nov 10th 2013

November 10th 2013

St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality.  You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith.  If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.

Special Welcome

To anyone attending for Remembrance Sunday.  Our act of remembrance will take place at 11 a.m.

The PCC have agreed that StAPH, our church plant at Woodlands School, will run thrice monthly including third Sundays from next week onwards, meeting at 10.30 a.m. on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month.  Going forward, we have also agreed to seek to employ a half time leader, with a salary of £11k.  Please speak to Greg or Alex for a job description, person specification or for an informal discussion.  The post will be advertised across other local churches, but we want to do everything possible to encourage applications from within our own fellowship.  Do pray for StAPH as it commences another exciting stage of its journey.

Pram Service

Please note our next Pram Service for pre-school children and their carers takes place on Tues 12th Nov at 9.15 a.m. with tea and coffee served from 8.45.  A fun half hour with stories, song and craft.  All welcome.

To Trev and Grace who are being married at St Andrews next Sunday.  And also to baby Arthur Crowe who is being baptized earlier that day.

Dan & Philippa

The latest blog from Dan & Philippa Munday, our missionary partners in Nepal is available to read on the rear noticeboard.

Deanery Synod

For the first time, St Andrews is hosting Deanery Synod on Thurs 21st November at 7.30 p.m.  We are looking for 2 or 3 volunteers to serve refreshments on this occasion.  Please see Greg or Fran if you are willing to help

Youth Service

There will be a Youth Service next Sunday at 6.30 p.m.  Please come along and support our young people.  We are hoping that other local churches will also be sending representatives, so it would be particularly good to have a good turn out from St Andrews.

The PCC have agreed to establish a staffed crèche during Sunday communion services starting in December.  We would be grateful to anyone who would be willing to serve on a rota to help with this.  If you are willing to help, please speak to Kate or Greg.
