15th February 2015 – Sunday next before Lent
St. Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
Please note that because of the increased number of babies/toddlers attending St. Andrew’s on Sunday mornings for the 10am service, we have begun to offer a staffed crèche in the side room for the convenience of parents.
To Lesley Lee who is being officially licensed to the parish as a Reader. Welcome also to Heidi Cartledge, who is preaching on Reader Ministry and Paul Mileham who will be officiating at the licensing.
Tea and Coffee
From next Sunday, tea and coffee will be served in the church. We have introduced this to persuade more people to stay after the service for fellowship. Please do take the opportunity to stay for a few minutes to meet people.
We are exploring the possibility of developing a team to take home communion to the housebound. Anyone who would like to train for this vital ministry should speak to Greg. Also, if you know of anyone who might like to receive home communion, let Greg know.
We continue our sermon series next week on Home Groups:

Our church plant that meets at Woodlands School has moved. It is now in the more comfortable and more accessible venue of the Sixth Form Block at the school just to the left of the main gate. The services take place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month at 10.30am.
Please put our Beetle Drive on your calendars. This will take place at Park Hill School on Friday 6th March. Tickets are available from Emma Read or Julie on 07756 918847 at a cost of £3 for adults or £2 for children, with family tickets at £8.
It feels like Christmas has just ended and already we are planning for Easter at St. Andrew’s! This year we will be running a Lent course on Tuesday afternoons over the five weeks of Lent. This will be an opportunity to come together to reflect on the Passion of Christ using the Bible, reflections and group discussions. We begin on Tuesday 24th February, and the sessions will start at 2pm and finish by 3.30pm. This is a great opportunity to go deeper into the crucifixion narratives and to think afresh about the unconditional sacrifice made by Christ for each one of us. All are welcome and if you have never been to a Lent group or to a Bible study group why not come along and be part of this group during Lent. It would be helpful to have some idea of numbers. Please let Greg or Sue Masters (email@example.com) know if you are interested.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 17th February from 1.30-3pm in the church side room. New members are always welcome, just come along on the day (50p per visit, includes tea or coffee and biscuits).
