1st March 2015 – Second Sunday of Lent
St. Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
Valentine’s Thank You
Thank you to all those who supported the Valentine’s Dinner Dance last Saturday. A wonderful time was had by all. Special thanks to Jackie, Rosemarie and Fran for their incredible hard work.
Volunteers needed to make up bunches of flowers please on Saturday 14th March at 9.15am. Children over the age of 10 years would be welcome to come and help. It takes about half an hour. Please let Ann Dove know if you can help. Thank you.
The Foodbank have requested donations of the following items. Tins of: meat, fish, rice pudding and custard; jars of: pasta sauce, coffee and jam; toilet rolls, tooth brushes, toothpaste and kitchen roll.
Every two years, we conduct a short survey which helps us plan our ministry with the congregation. For the survey to be really useful, it requires everyone to take part. The questionnaire takes less than 60 seconds to complete, asking only 4 questions. Unless you are a visitor, even if you have been attending for only a few weeks, please do fill in a questionnaire. It is entirely confidential.
Tea and Coffee
We have introduced a new self-service system for tea and coffee. Hot drinks dispensers are sited at the back of church for people to help themselves. We have introduced this to encourage more people to stay after the service for fellowship. Please do take the opportunity to stay for a few minutes to meet with old friends and make new ones.
We conclude our sermon series today on Home Groups:
8th Feb Sue Masters Home Groups and discipleship
22nd Feb Greg Smith Home Groups and pastoral care
1st March Greg/Sue Home Groups and mission
Please speak to Sue if you want to know about how to find the right home group for you.
We are still looking for volunteers to join the rota for operating the sound system and powerpoint. Anyone else willing to help should speak to Steve Martin or Steve Wankling.
