5th July 2015 – Fifth Sunday after Trinity
St. Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
To Anne Richardson who has been accepted for training as an ordained minister in the Church of England. Anne will begin training in September at St. Mellitus in London on a three year course. Other details of her training are still to be sorted out. Please pray for Anne as she does this.
We regret to announce the death of Peter Anderson (husband of Barbara) on Wednesday afternoon after a short stay in hospital. Funeral details will follow.
Bannerbrook Park Community Day
The event will run on 11th July from 12-4pm on Bannerbrook Park with a Ceilidh (barn dance) at 6pm. There will be bouncy castles, side show stalls, a dog show, local businesses and independent sellers, a bake off, village games and lots more! Volunteers needed to help man stalls, set up etc. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are available to help.
Please remember that next Sunday is Alex’s farewell service. This service of Holy Communion will start at 11am instead of the usual 10 o’clock start. Please note that StAPH will not be meeting at Woodlands as they will join the congregation at St. Andrew’s for this service.
Rock Solid Picnic
On Sunday 19th July, in place of of regular Youth Service, Rock Solid are going for a picnic in Stratford upon Avon. Young people, parents and anyone else is welcome to join us from 3pm. We will have a walking treasure hunt and play a variety of games for all the family. If you wish to join us and/or able to offer a lift please see Nick or email email@example.com.
On September 12th, a party from St. Andrew’s will be walking the Coventry Way. This is a forty mile path that circuits the city, mainly through fields and off road paths, and unlike last year’s venture is entirely flat! You are invited to consider walking some or all the route, mindful that we will be raising funds for both St. Andrew’s and the Laura Centre (a charity that provides support to bereaved children and parents who have lost children). We are immensely grateful for those who have volunteered to be part of the support group. A practice walk is planned on August 21st. Anyone who can walk 3 miles an hour is welcome to join us for this. Please see Greg for further information.
Our next Pram Service for pre-school children and carers takes place on Tuesday 14th July at 9.15am with refreshments served before and after this time of song, craft and story. All welcome.
140th Anniversary Weekend
Jonathan Veira, a renowned Christian international singer, raconteur and comedian has agreed to perform along with his family at our 140th anniversary concert on Saturday 15th August, which will be held at the Massey Ferguson Social Concert room.
