22nd May 2016 – Trinity Sunday
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
This morning Anne Richardson will be preaching on the work of Church Together in Tile Hill.
Walk to Church Sunday
If you have made a special effort to walk to church this morning, thank you for doing so. Why not consider during the summer months of warmer weather doing this on a more regular basis?
Prayer before Service
Anyone who would like to pray before the service would be welcome to join the small group who do so between 9.40 and 9.50am. We will be meeting upstairs to do this. Please be aware that there is always prayer available after the service for any issue of concern.
Our latest newsletter from Dan & Philippa Munday, our Mission Partners is at the back of church (in the red folder).
A volunteer is needed to take over a round on Upper Eastern Green Lane: 192-230, 240-288 and 294-298 (46 magazines in total). If someone is willing to take over this round I would be very grateful. Please contact me on (02476 403458 or 07846 288036 or email email@example.com. Many thanks, Barbara Warner.
Christian’s Against Poverty (CAP)
CAP need friendly people to support their work helping people out of debt in Tile Hill and surrounding areas. Could you become a Befriender? Befrienders usually do 3 initial home visits with Debt Coach Ian Burton which could develop into a long-term relationship. We also need…Pray-ers who can pray in their own homes whilst visits are happening, help to run a 4-week Money Course teaching financial skills, donations to support CAP’s work across the city and Tile Hill. Whatever your skills we can use them to help those in need e.g. Maintenance, Admin, Fundraising. For more information contact Anne Richardson (Church Together In Tile Hill Development Officer): 07973221635 / firstname.lastname@example.org. Or come to the Interest Evening on the 15th June 2016, 7.30pm at St James’ Fletchampsted Church.
Tile Hill Job Club
The Tile Hill Hob Club is now running very successfully, but needs more volunteers who can help people put together a CV and look for work or serve refreshments. Training can be provided. If you want to know more contact Anne Richardson, email@example.com or come along Thursdays 2-4pm in St. Oswald’s Church Hall.
Our next Pram Service takes place on Tuesday, May 24th at 9.15am. Doors are open at 8.45am and refreshments served. This is a very informal time of craft, singing songs and telling stories for pre-school children and their parents. All welcome.
Supper n Chat
After many successful years of running Lunch n Chat, a support group for those who have been bereaved, we are extending our support to the bereaved by offering an evening group on Thursday evenings, commencing June 16th. Thanks to the volunteers who have come forward. If you know anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one, do let them know about this group and suggest they come along. If you would like to know more, please speak to Rita.
We have successfully negotiated with the Eastern Green Club the right to park on their car park for our morning services. Please park considerately, ensuring that the exit is not blocked, and please do not stay beyond midday.
Limbrick Wood Prayer Meeting
Anyone who would like to support our sister church, Limbrick Wood Baptist Church might like to attend their regular monthly prayer meeting at the church at 7.30pm on Wednesday 1st June. Please see Greg for further details.
We regret to announce the death of Alan House. His funeral will take place at St Andrew’s on Thursday 26th May at 2pm. Anyone who is willing to sing with the choir that day should speak to Dawn.
Thanks to David Griffiths and his team for running the Plant Sale last Saturday. Nearly £200 has been raised towards church funds. Thanks also to all those whom came along to support it.
Party in the Park
Many thanks to the amazing band of volunteers, who braved the elements to help with Party in the Park on the Bank Holiday Monday. You worked so hard and made such a difference. Thanks also to those who came along to support the day. Despite the weather, many hundreds of people took part and we even made a small surplus on the event.
Bake for the Queen
Congratulations to Pauline Walker who was one of the winners of the Bake for the Queen competition.
Coventry Blaze Tickets
Thanks to Jean Selby, who won a Family Ticket to Coventry Blaze, and has donated the tickets to the church. Anyone who would like the ticket should make an offer and proceeds will be used to offset the cost of Party in the Park.
The biannual City Praise Service takes place tonight, May 22nd, at the Welcome Centre in Parkside at 6.30pm. This is a wonderful occasion in which nearly 100 churches from around the city gather together as an act of Christian unity to praise our God. All welcome. Please speak to Greg if you would like a lift.
