Pews News – 26th June 2016

26th June 2016 – Fifth Sunday after Trinity

Welcome
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.

Thank you
To everyone who sent messages of support and offered prayers for Fran, who had an arthroscopy operation on her left knee this week. Please note that Greg is taking holiday between this Sunday and next to be available for convalescence. Please contact one of the churchwardens or Julie, the administrator if you need to speak to someone.

It has been confirmed that St Andrew’s is the first church in the diocese to achieve an Eco-church Bronze Award. The certificate was presented at the June Worship 4 All service. Many thanks to Dawn Easthope for her hard work in undertaking all the administration and green championing around our gaining this important recognition. St Andrew’s is also to be presented with a Yew Tree which will be planted by the Bishop of Coventry later in Autumn. Following on from this success, we will be forming a group of people to take us forward into achieving the Silver and Gold awards. Anyone who has an interest or experience in the areas of Worship, Buildings, Land, Community and Lifestyle will be more than welcome. If you are interested in joining the group, please see Dawn Easthope or contact her on 07513753899.
