2nd October 2016 – Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
Children’s Church meets each week during the Sunday Communion Service. There is a crèche for very little ones and lots of fun games and craft activities for primary age children. Parents are welcome, too, particularly while their children are settling in. For more information speak to Hilary or Becky.
We are celebrating Harvest this morning at Worship 4 All, as well as next Sunday, October 9th with a service of Holy Communion. The charity we are supporting this year is Water Aid. Please give generously.
Fran and Greg have generously offered to open the Vicarage to members of the congregation for a ‘Bring and Share’ Harvest Lunch at 1pm on Sunday 9th October, after the Harvest Service. We hope that you will see this as a great opportunity to celebrate the Lord’s goodness to us, sharing our food together in friendship and fellowship. All who would like to attend are invited to sign the sheets at the back of Church and indicate what food they would be willing to contribute. Three volunteers are required to help serve the harvest lunch and clear up afterwards. Please speak to Fran if you are able to help.
St Andrew’s will be producing a Pantomime next January in conjunction with the Village Hall. Anyone who would like to be involved in this in any capacity (on stage or back stage) should speak to Greg as soon as possible.
To Tessa and Kevin who were married at St Andrew’s on Friday. We wish them every blessing for their married lives together.
Tonight will see our monthly Ignatian Service at 6.30pm. A time of quiet reflection, followed by Compline by candlelight. All welcome.
The Church Together in Tile Hill is going to be running a Youth Alpha on Monday evenings commencing 10th October. We are looking for table leaders who can help 3 or 4 young people as they talk through their questions relating to the Christian faith. Full training will be provided by Youth for Christ. Please speak to Greg if you want to help. Also, if you know a young person 11+ who might like to do Youth Alpha, mention it to Greg or Phil.
Supper n Chat
The four month experiment that was Supper n Chat has come to an end. The PCC decided that given the low take up, it was right to bring it to a close. Many thanks to Rita and her team of volunteers for their time and care expressed through this project. Please note that if you know anyone who has been bereaved in the last two years that Lunch n Chat welcomes new members and meets every Wednesday at 11.45am. Please speak to Rita for further details.

In the final term of last year, the Church Together in Tile Hill ran a successful youth café at Jardine Youth Centre, which St Andrew’s made a significant contribution to. However, over the summer we have lost two volunteers and although we know there are young people who are keen to come, we cannot reopen until those two volunteers have been replaced. Please speak to Greg or Jill Pinks if you want to know more. We want to run late on Monday afternoons from 4-5.30pm.
