16th October 2016 – 21st Sunday after Trinity
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
150th Anniversary of Reader Ministry
This morning, we are celebrating 150 years since the first Readers were licensed in the Church of England. We will be taking the opportunity to celebrate our own two wonderful Readers: Lesley and Sue.
St Andrew’s Church is hosting an event with the Diocese Environment Group, to celebrate Eco Church on Wednesday 19th October starting at 8pm. There will be some short presentations, which includes how St Andrew’s achieved the Bronze award, followed by your own local ‘stories of hope’ and discussion. Everyone is welcome, so come along and find out what Eco Church is all about. For further information see Dawn Easthope, Jill Pinks or Veronika Toor.

Many thanks to all those who stayed behind last week to complete the survey. It will be some time before the results are published, but we will let you know what you said about us in due course!
At the end of this year, Jackie Lynch who has given many years loyal service to St Andrew’s as Treasurer will be standing down. Jackie is willing to continue some of the Treasurer’s duties and also ensure there is a good handover of responsibilities. If you have any relevant experience of bookkeeping especially using a computer, please pray about whether you can serve St Andrew’s in this way. For further information, please speak to Jackie or Greg.
We are sad to announce the death of Pete Watts. His funeral will take place on Monday 17th October at 12.30pm in church. Please pray for Sandra and her family at this sad time.
In the final term of last year, the Church Together in Tile Hill ran a successful youth café at Jardine Youth Centre, which St Andrew’s made a significant contribution to. However, over the summer we have lost two volunteers and although we know there are young people who are keen to come, we cannot reopen until those two volunteers have been replaced. Please speak to Greg or Jill Pinks if you want to know more. We want to run late on Monday afternoons from 4-5.30pm.
Anyone interested in being confirmed at Coventry Cathedral on Saturday 26th November should speak to Greg as soon as possible.
On Sunday 30th October, the Prayer Ministry Team will be leading our communion service at 10am. There will be the opportunity for anointing with oil for healing for any who wish it; as well as private one to one prayer.

We are holding a Spring Cleaning morning on Saturday 22nd October from 9.30-11.30am. (Yes, we do know it’s Autumn!) Both men and women are needed for this!
We are delighted to welcome Dewi Thomas and Carys Egna into the church family. Dewi and Carys are students at Nexus, the nationally celebrated music worship college in Earlsdon. As part of their course, they are placed at St Andrew’s for the next 12 months. Please do make them feel welcome when you see them at St Andrew’s. We are also looking for people to offer them a simple lunch on a Sunday. This can be done any Sunday over the coming months. Please speak to Greg if you are willing to join a rota to do this.
Please pray for Susan Barnes, Rita Muir and Shirley Lewis who will be attending Cursillo, a spiritual renewal programme for lay people, next weekend. Do take the opportunity on their return to ask them all about it.
