30th October 2016 – Fourth Sunday before Advent
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
This morning, the Prayer Ministry Team are leading our communion service. There will be the opportunity for anointing with oil for healing for any who wish it; as well as private one to one prayer.
St Andrew’s will be producing a Pantomime next January in conjunction with the Village Hall. Anyone who would like to be involved in this in any capacity (on stage or back stage) should speak to Greg asap.
At the end of this year, Jackie Lynch who has given many years loyal service to St Andrew’s as Treasurer will be standing down. Jackie is willing to continue some of the Treasurer’s duties and also ensure there is a good handover of responsibilities. If you have any relevant experience of bookkeeping especially using a computer, please pray about whether you can serve St Andrew’s in this way. For further information, please speak to Jackie or Greg.
Bishop’s Certificate in Discipleship and Mission
St. Andrew’s will be hosting one of the diocesan BCDM modules in the new year. This is a five week course and open to all. There is no cost for those who attend from our congregations, but you will need to register for course (see below). Paul’s Life, Mission and Letters looks at the life of the Apostle in his context in the 1st Century world, and at the letters that he wrote, focusing especially on 1 and 2 Corinthians. You will gain an understanding of what motivated Paul, what his opponents said, and find ways of reading his letters so that they make sense! If you want to know more or are unsure about how to register please speak with Sue Masters, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Further information about all BCDM modules are available on the diocesan website. Dates and Time: Tuesday evenings 7-9:30pm, 10th January – 7th February, venue: St Andrew’s Church. To register, please go to: www.dioceseofcoventry.org/BCDMregister<http://www.dioceseofcoventry.org/BCDMregister>
Eastern Green Village Hall
Please note that the AGM of the Eastern Green Village Hall takes place on Wednesday 9th November at 8.10pm. Anyone who lives in Eastern Green, Allesley Green or Bannerbrook Park is welcome to attend.
In the final term of last year, the Church Together in Tile Hill ran a successful youth café at Jardine Youth Centre, which St Andrew’s made a significant contribution to. However, over the summer we have lost two volunteers and although we know there are young people who are keen to come, we cannot reopen until those two volunteers have been replaced. Please speak to Greg or Jill Pinks if you want to know more. We want to run late on Monday afternoons from 4-5.30pm.
Anyone interested in being confirmed at Coventry Cathedral on Saturday 26th November should speak to Greg as soon as possible. Preparation meetings will take place at the Vicarage on Sunday evenings: Nov 6th at 8pm; Nov 13th at 6.30pm and Nov 20th at 6.30pm.

All welcome, however this course is not designed for those with serious debt issues. Just turn up on the night. We are still looking for volunteers to welcome people and serve tea/coffee – please let Anne know if you can help. Any questions contact email@example.com /Anne Richardson 07973221635.
We are delighted to welcome Dewi Thomas and Carys Egna into the church family. Dewi and Carys are students at Nexus, the nationally celebrated music worship college in Earlsdon. As part of their course, they are placed at St Andrew’s for the next 12 months. They will be joining us at St Andrew’s for the first time next Sunday. Please do make them feel welcome when you see them. We are also looking for people to offer them a simple lunch on a Sunday. This can be done any Sunday over the coming months. Please speak to Greg if you are willing to join a rota to do this.
Anyone interested in helping with this year’s crib service on 24th December should speak to Greg ASAP.
Many thanks to the small band of volunteers who helped clean and tidy the church last weekend.
