29th January 2017 – Fourth Sunday of Epiphany
St Andrew’s Church welcomes allcomers, whether this is your first time or thousandth time in church. You are welcome whatever your age, gender, marital status, disability, race or sexuality. You are welcome whether you have a deep and mature faith in Christ; are uncertain and still seeking; or have no faith. If you are new to church, please do take a welcome leaflet to be found in the pews; and do not hesitate to ask one of the welcomers if you have any queries.
Worship 4 All
The theme of the next week’s worship 4 all is God’s love for the whole of creation. Children are encouraged to bring their favourite cuddly animal (stuffed not live!)
Eating Disorders – Train to become a Tastelife Leader
Tastelife’s two-day residential training, which takes place in Oxfordshire in February, will equip you to run the tastelife course in your area by providing information about eating disorders plus the concepts behind the tastelife course, and skills to deliver it. The training is fully accredited by the University of Brighton Health Sciences REQ mark (Recognised Educational Quality), with continuing oversight. All refreshments, food and accommodation is included. Website: www.tastelifeuk.org.
Our monthly Ignatian service conducted by Kate and Dawn takes place next Sunday at 6.30pm.
Many thanks to all those who supported the Sleeping Beauty pantomime, whether by performing or helping out backstage or by buying tickets. The cast and crew had a wonderful time doing it, and the feedback suggests that the audience appreciated it equally. Something in the region of £1,000 has been raised towards the Village Hall development fund. £300 was raised for church funds through the raffle and refreshments.
Safeguarding at St Andrew’s
The new C1 safeguarding courses are now available. Dates and venues are now on the notice board at the back of church. A good mix of churches within each training session allows us to learn from each other by sharing best practise and experiences. Please book your place early to avoid disappointment and also let me (Linda – your PSO) know. I will then issue you with your certificate on completion.

Open the Book
Open the Book is a project adopted by many churches across the UK, dedicated to bringing Bible stories into schools. One of the staff at St Andrew’s School is willing to head up a small team of volunteers who would come into the school, perhaps once a month, to tell Bible stories in a dramatic, interactive way in school assemblies. If you would be at all interested in joining such a team, please speak to Greg.
