It’s hard to imagine anyone could hear the story of Jesus washing his disciples’ feet without reflecting on all the washing of hands we have been obliged to do over the last month. However, washing our hands is something we can do for ourselves. The point about Jesus washing his disciples’ feet is that they couldn’t do it for themselves. This story prefigures the cross in which Jesus takes on himself the sins of the world – again something we cannot do for ourselves.
A reminder that we will post at 7 p.m. tonight a guided meditation to accompany a pre-recorded Gospel of the Watch. Take time (an hour if you will) to watch and pray with Christ on the eve of his agony.
On Friday, there will be two acts of worship posted tomorrow; a service and a powerpoint reflection. We suggest (if possible) watching the former at 10 a.m. and the latter at 2 p.m. if your diary allows.
There will also be a live act of witness by the local church leaders, at 12 noon.
We will celebrate the joy and glory of the resurrection on Sunday at 10 a.m. We will have a virtual coffee time after the service at 11 a.m. via zoom.
More Sad news
Bernice Griffiths, who was a regular at St Andrews until about 5 years ago, died very suddenly at home in Hampton-in-Arden on Wednesday. Please pray for David, who only left St Andrews a few months ago, when he was no longer able to drive.
To Rita Muir, who although unable for obvious reasons to attend the Maundy Service today and receive her Maundy money directly from the Queen has still received the money through the post. Perhaps she will show us at coffee on Sunday!
Passion of the Christ
Kate Dagger has enquired whether anyone has a copy of the Passion of the Christ DVD?
There will be only one mailing next week on Thursday because of Julie and Greg’s holiday.
A reminder that we are here to shop! Please don’t wait until the cupboards are bare to ask for help. A couple of days notice is very helpful. Please contact Julie for assistance on 07756 918847 or email@example.com
The foodbank in Tile Hill will reopen next week to supply food during the corona crisis. It will be run out of the Mosaic Family Hub by St Andrews. Food parcels arrive pre-packed. But we need half a dozen volunteers to distribute food on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. If you are able to help or want to know more, please contact Julie asap. We are looking for helpers, a shift manager and a coordinator.
The Easter Greeting
