Although the reopening of schools which happened on Monday has been much vaunted (and questioned in some quarters), the reality is that the vast majority of the nation’s children are not going to be in school until September. For those with large gardens, parents who are furloughed and have plenty of time for them and with good access via social media and skype to their friends, this is still something of a trial. For those in flats, whose parents have to work and who have little or no access to the internet, this is an unprecedented challenge. It’s hard to think of an analogous situation. In history and throughout the world, even the poorest children have been able to play in the streets with their friends. Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me”. Let us pray that whenever the children of our City need him, they will find him.
At our Weds morning meeting (via zoom), Sue will be helping us explore the second half of Romans chapter 7. The access details for this are always the same. Contact Greg if you need this.
Thy Kingdom Come
Anyone who has any stories of answered prayer following the Thy Kingdom Come prayer initiative, please do share them with us.
We are grateful to those who have bravely shared a small insight into their prayer lives as a means of inspiring others to pray. We are looking for anyone who can use a phone to record themselves who is willing to speak briefly about their prayer lives and be honest about the joys and challenges of it. If you would like to find out more, please contact Lesley Lee at email@example.com
For your diaries, the churches of Coventry are planning to prayer walk every street in the city during the month of June. We need St Andrews/St Andy’s to be part of ensuring that Eastern Green/Allesley Green is included in this. At present, they have been rather neglected compared to the rest of the city. You can download an app from the Open Heaven Coventry website and claim roads for yourself or let us know and we will claim them for you. Please consider claiming your road. We are attaching a document entitled ‘Using Scripture While Prayer Walking’ which we hope you will find helpful.
If during the period of the corona lockdown, anyone has had pictures, bible verses or any other kind of revelation of what God might be saying to us, please let us know – even if you have no idea what it means! Kate Dagger felt God might be saying to us: “God is winning our hearts back” and referenced Psalm 4 v 4. Let us know if that resonates with you in any way.
Returning to Church
Many of you have been asking and no doubt many more wondering: when will the church be open again? I can only promise that as soon as I hear anything, we will let you know straight away. I am watching the Church of England’s website, visiting on a daily basis, but for now churches across the country remain closed to anyone other than the Vicar (and a member of her/his household to hold the camera if necessary). My own judgement is that we will not return to a full church with social distancing no longer an issue before 2021. In the meantime, we trust you will continue to be fed by the online services we are posting.

A reminder that we are here to shop! Please don’t wait until the cupboards are bare to ask for help. A couple of days’ notice would be helpful. Please contact Julie for assistance on 07756 918847 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks to Linda Chylinski for these words from Psalm 139:
If I went to heaven, you would be there;
If I lay down in the world of the dead, you would be there.
If I flew away beyond the east or lived in the farthest place in the west,
You would be there to lead me,
You would be there to help me.
